I started training with Malcolm with a focus on overcoming some injuries I have had from extreme sports which includes snowboarding and rock-climbing. Malcolm was so on it right from the start and we trained without risking further injury. The workouts are so subtle but super effective. I have gained overall strength by 50% and now we are amping it up with two specific goals I have in both sports. Having been cycling for a long time I’ve picked up a lot of imbalances and some nagging injuries. These were restricting my performance and also having an impact on my daily life as well. Malcolm was able to identify exactly what I needed to do to overcome these. Over the year he has strengthened up the glute muscles and massively improved my lower back mobility. Malcolm has also fixed a bad shoulder separation injury and I am back to full strength.
I do not like exercise at all, but after a year of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, I realised I had to do something to help me recover from the physical trauma. My first class was one of the most physically testing experiences I’ve ever endured. I don’t know why I went back, but I did. Months later, I found that I had become more aware of the muscles in my body.
I was slowly learning about my body and what it could do. I was also quitting less. I was becoming more nimble, a little firmer and a little stronger. Having noticed that some of my clothes seemed to fit a little looser, I weighed myself once more. I’d managed to shed 7kg. I guess exercise is good for you after all!
