5 Simple Tips to Reclaim Your Wellness and Vitality!!!

Hope you had a good weekend! I started this year laser focused on one simple goal in mind and the goal was to 10x my wellness and vitality through healthy clean foods and fitness. This is what I have learned- love yourself enough to make good choices!!

Below are the five tips that I believe are most essential to living a healthy and vibrant life with high energy.

Tip #1: Sleep – Adults should be getting at least 7 hours of sleep ๐Ÿ˜ด daily. Some benefits of getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep include reduction in stress levels, decrease in appetite, sleep enhances physical activities and increases your resting metabolism. Aim to get at least 7 hours of sleep ideally between 10.00pm to 5am if you can.

Tip #2: Plant based foods – This means focusing primarily on foods from plants ๐ŸŒฑ including veggies ๐Ÿ… ๐ŸŒถ ๐ŸŒฝ and fruits ๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿ‰ and nuts, seeds and oils. Eating just one plant -based meal a day can reduce carbon emissions annually. This doesnโ€™t make you a vegan or vegetarian or that you will never eat meats, it just means you are proportionately choosing more of your foods from plant sources.
I have committed to getting at least one meal a day from plants and continue to work on increasing this number. Some benefits include support for the immune system, improved digestion and reduction of inflammation.

Tip #3: Movement – Our bodies were designed to move and if you know me, you know I say that all the time. Movement affects everything from circulation and digestion to immunity. Some benefits include healthy joints, strong bones and good circulation. Movements that I love are running๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ, working out ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ, jujitsu and most recently hiking ๐Ÿฅพ. It doesnโ€™t matter how you move, just move.

Tip #4: Proteins – these are macromolecules that play many critical roles in the body and most of the work in cell structure and the function of tissues and organs. Some benefits of protein include strengthening bones, reduces cravings and desire for mid night snacks, helps maintain fat loss and increases muscle mass & strength.

Tip #5: Mindset – Last but certainly not least, a positive mindset is key to wellness and vitality. As you may know, your thoughts affect your emotions which in turn impact your decisions, your decisions lead to your actions, your actions get you results that you may or may not want. Therefore, maintaining a positive mindset is key and this is why I dedicate time each morning to set my intentions for the day. Even if itโ€™s just a few minutes, try to incorporate meditation or prayer before beginning your day and you will reap positive outcomes.
